Dermot O'Leary hosts Thanet charity bash
Dermot O’Leary and Frank Thorley were the auctioneers in a charity dinner dance which raised over £11,000 for a Broadstairs special needs school. The dinner dance and auction hosted at the pavilion in Broadstairs on Thursday night raised £11,500 for the Foreland School. Rosalind Binks, organiser of the evening and Broadstairs mayor said: “It was an extremely successful evening. Dermot O'Leary and Frank Thorley were a hugely entertaining team of auctioneers, Hullabaloo and the DJ (PJ) brought everybody onto the dance floor and by the end of the evening we had raised a brilliant £11,500 for The Foreland School.” Local people who donated prizes to the event included Sarah Pengelly, Laura Sandys Frank Thorley, Rosalind Binks and companies included Blaze Neon, Thorley Taverns, Summit Aviation, Keel toys, Hornby, East Kent College, Westgate & Birchington Golf Club, Waitrose Ramsgate. The money raised will go to the Foreland School who teach children who have profound, severe or complex learning difficulties.
