To be in with a chance of making it through to the UK’s most talked about entertainment show you will need to prepare a verse or chorus of one or more songs acapella. You don’t need to have applied beforehand, or have received any email of information - anyone who turns up will be seen, bosses say. "Just come to our auditions, and make sure you turn up early as audition slots are on a first come, first served basis," a spokesman said. Dermot O’Leary, X Factor’s most loved host, has been confirmed to present this year’s 10th series and will attend the auditions. He said: “It’s great that the XF open auditions are back in Birmingham after a few years. "We’ve found some great talent in the past so I hope we find someone equally brilliant this year. It’s one of those places that attract talent and characters from all over the centre of the country… and there’s always plenty of both. "It's always been a privilege to host the X Factor and even more so this year as its the 10th series. As always I'm looking forward to the laughs, the hugs, maybe not so much the tears, and watching really talented people... And some not so talented people. But that's the beauty of the show, you never know who's up next." Hopefuls who turn up this Saturday will audition in front of producers with the hope of making it through to the next stage in the show where they will sing in front of the judges. This year the show will see brand new double auditions with the return of the audition room as well as the arenas. The spokesman said: "The plan is to have the best of both worlds with regard to auditions. So the contestants will start with just the judges in an audition room. "If they get through then they will go on to an auditorium. Bosses believe it will bring more warmth back to the show because they know how popular the audition rooms were with both contestants and the audience at home."
